There’s a crack in my foundation, what do I do?
You’ve just seen a crack in your foundation. Might be inside your basement, the few of us in North Carolina who have basements. Might be on the floor, or the walls. Or you might have seen a crack on your front steps, the stones or bricks or cement at the base of your house.
In the picture here, you can see a crack just under the white siding, between the gray grout and the brick above it. While not necessarily a sign of a foundation problem, in this case it was.
What do you need to do? Look up two to three foundation repair companies, and ask them to come out to your property. When they come, definitely walk around with them and notice what they see and comment on. If you take notes on what they say, you’ll be able to compare the different contractors when it comes time to decide who you want to hire, if you need to get work done.
It’s also important to see who you feel the most comfortable with. Check out their ratings with the Better Business Bureau. Ask for references, and even call a couple.
We invite you to give us a call. We’ve been in business for over 38 years, and we know what we’re doing. We know foundation repair so well, we even designed, manufacture and distribute the helical piers and brackets used to support foundations that have cracked.
